Feedback 1!

This is the feedback I recieved from my teacher on the first marking of my blog, she enlisted what was good and bad with my blog. Luckily, she loved the way my blog was going so far! The only glitches that she told me to correct during lessons was to included some more information on one workshop I did, that mistake was corrected.
I was voted BLOGGER OF THE WEEK for this week and two of the previous for the best blog by my teacher.

Inspiration!

Our music video song was based in the 21st century, therefore everything was modern and up to date. Now a days, style is the essence, therefore for our inspiration that inspired us throughout are a few icons.

The Look
Well, we wanted to construct a look similar to P!NK, as her look fitted the characteristics of the character we created for our music video. One person we got inspired from by her look was Madonna, her punk/rock style, based our characters looks.
Her wacky hairstyle is similar in the way to P!NK, as it brings out her crazy side, much like the leader actress in my music video. Her vivid style resembles a style that was created back in the 80's. Madonna as well as her style, is a worldwide icon, therefore using her as an inspiration really helped us to identify what the audience would like.

Our Scenes
Forest scene - was inspired by another punk rock female, Avril Lavigne
and her song 'Alice'. This song was filmed in a forest setting, therefore this video was the base of the idea of this scene in our music video. The location of the scene seemed to appeal to me, through
the effects of lighting, creating a suspense and mystery to the atmosphere to the song, which I felt our audience would taking a liking to.

Classroom scene - this scene was inspired from another female pop star, Miley Cyrus with her song 'Ordinary Girl'. We thought this particular scene from this music video would be just right for our own music video, because it created all the right feelings that we wanted the audience feel for the character, such as sympathy, sadness, loneliness etc. The location of the scene was relatively easy, as we thought about whether we could accomplish this scene.

Mirror Scene - we felt that this scene would be the pinnacle point of our music video, therefore our inspiration for it would have to be on point with the kind atmosphere we wanted to achieve. We felt two scenes out of Christina Aguilera's music video 'Beautiful' created the perfect feelings as well as effect to the music video. The scene's fitted in with the theme's we were portraying, and we felt that including a scene similar to these two would help make the point we were making much clearer to the audience.

On Set 4!

Harris Academy Music Room

We chose this location to host our 'band scene'. This scene was used in the middle of our music video, to show a different side to our singer, Lola Malibu. We decided to have a 'band scene' to break up the storyline, instead of carrying the story throughout. We used various angled shots to present each member of the band individually as well as a band.
As you can see, we gave each of us a role within the band with the addition of another person.

Drummer: Zulekha      Singer/Guitar: Riham  Keyboard/Back up : Anisha
We decided on adding a certain effect on our band sequence to give it a dazzling celebrity look to it, to portray it to be a realistic performance, which I feel we achieved. The good factor about this scene was filming it as it was extreamly enjoyable and fun whilst experimenting with instruments we never have played before!

On Set 3!

Location 3 - 'Harris Academy South Norwood' TV Studio

This scene was created to move on from the 'Band Scene' we are beginning to film, we called this the 'Performance Scene'. The idea of this scene was a solo performance done by Lola Malibu, we used different gel's to create an effect of a tint to the lighting whilst also using a variety of camera angles to portray the performance.

The effect of the red gives off a sense of a real live gig which is the main aim we wanted to accomplish with this scene. We inserted gels on to the lights as you can see above, which gave off the red glow.
As Lola Malibu did her performance, I was busy filming the entire thing, I had to get in some rather uncomfortable spots to get the camera angle footage that I need as you can see below.

On set 2!

Location 2 - Harris Academy South Norwood (Classroom Scene)

The main idea of the 'classroom scene' was to portray the character as an outsider within her class friends as well as being excluded by the teacher. To accomplish this we decided to use an ordinary classroom within our school to ensure that the location being seen was realistic and not a made up set.

We had a few problems prior to filming as we couldn't set the correct settings to our HD video camera as it was set to default, this wasted some of the precious time we had. However by the end of shooting, we gathered the shots we needed for our music video.

Mood Board 1!

This mood board consists of pictures which reflect some of the theme's in which our music video is based on. Some of the theme's we are reflecting on are:
- Loneliness
- Depression
- Drug & Alcohol addiction
- Trapped

On Set 1!

Location 1 - Beulah Heights (Chase Scene)
For the audience to get a feel of our location, I decided to video part of the location, as we made our way to the destination. As you can tell we decided to locate our 'chase scene' within a park/forest area, the advantages of using this as our setting were:
- Theme of 'loneliness'.
- Trapped feeling.
- Naturalistic atmosphere.

The concept of this 'Chase Scene' was based on the idea of the title of the song 'Don't Let Me Get Me', where there are two sides of her personality. The good girl (sober, drug free) whilst the bad girl (junkie and druggie) is trying to get back at her, which is why we thought filming this scene would be effective.

Location Photo's

Weather Forecast
Prior to filming, we had to ensure that weather conditions wouldn't interfere with our filming, therefore we did an on-line weather forecast check the night before. Results showed that Friday was to be light rain, this made us re-think whether to film on this day, as we couldn't film on Thursday due to one team member being ill. Therefore we just went with our gut feeling and filmed on the Friday, and due to luck, at the times we filmed the sun was shinning, which resulted in a successful filming day.
