What have you learned from your audience feedback?
When receiving this feedback, I thought to myself how there was a good mixture of comments which were very useful as we gained honest opinions from keen target audiences. Looking at the feedback we got, it showed us the key scene which we should keep and the elements which we needed to change in order for our audience to enjoy the music video to the maximum. An example of this would be the lip syncing, that is one of the most important aspects of a music video, therefore we would need to ensure that once edited again that the lip syncing was on beat with the music.
To understand the elements which I had to change, I created a idea cloud, which enabled me identify what I had to change and how I was to improve and achieve those suggestions of improvements. |
Comment of the moment: "The t-shirt scene worked well & it had good lighting."
I think the reason why this comment stood out to me is because it was reassuring knowing from a member of the audience that they enjoyed that particular scene, especially as it was a risking scene and special effects to include in our music. In our gut feeling, I and Riham, both thought that it would be a great scene to include as it allowed the audience to link the artist with all her troubles.
This feedback that we got was very surprising, a good surprise, especially as we have never created a product in this format. I'm pleased that the audience understood the link between the artist and the image we her to portray and the whole concept of the themes we wanted to incorporate. The positive aspect of having feedback is acquiring awareness to some factors of our product that need to be changed, inserted or edited, that we didn't realise before.
< One of the feedbacks that we received mentioned the image we had on the back of our rough Digipak. We took on board this feedback as we felt it could be edited further, to release the originality of our Digipak.
> Therefore as you can see , we respected our audiences feedback enough to change our back panel image to suit the target audience's interests and needs. Fortunately, more people liked the final version of the back panel as it linked in with the whole graffiti pass-oner of our Digipak & Magazine Advert.
Comment of the moment: "The white costume contrasts nicely with the graffiti background."
I particularly liked this comment as costume was an important part of mise-en-scene that we had to get right for the artist. As well as the costume, the commenter also reflected on the graffiti theme that we went for in our Digipak and magazine advert. We chose to have a white costume as white connotes innocence and an angel like characteristic, this 'angel' image linked in with the whole 'good vs evil' theme that was continuous throughout our music video as well as digipak and magazine advert.
FACEBOOK
We also gained feedback from social networking websites such as Facebook. This was an easy method to gain feedback as we created a special group for Lola, we could therefore upload videos, images, statues by her on to it. On our group page, we gained some feedback on our rough cut. I was very happy with the feedback as it showed that that particular audience took time out to view the video and also comment, therefore Lola must have been eye catching to take a look.
Overall, having audience feedback is a crucial aspect of the finishing touches to your product, as the audience have the majority say in whether the product is accepted or not. Gaining as much feedback as possible will help the product in developing from a good product into a great product, and I feel that by the amount of research and careful planning that we gained a mixture of feedback from our audience which then turned into all positives.
